It's my pleasure to chair
the third annual
International Conference on
E-learning in the Workplace
(ICELW).
I have always viewed ICELW
as a fairly unique
conference, in that we bring
together researchers and
practitioners from such a
wide variety of countries
and backgrounds. ICELW is
certainly one of the only
places I've ever been where
I've heard the phrases
"cognitive load" and "return
on investment," both within
the same hour! In our
previous two
conferences--and we expect
the same again this
year--we've had a wonderful
mix of researchers,
corporate trainers and
directors, e-learning
consultants, and many more.
We also look to have a
variety of session formats,
with lots of demonstrations
of successful e-learning
approaches, and a fair
amount of discussion and
debate.
Along with the conference
program, I've appreciated
the high attendance and
level of enthusiasm at our
conference social events,
including the "conference
drinks" evening and our
conference dinner. We
always look to make ICELW a
very enjoyable event for
everyone, and have been
happy to see that the social
events are popular and that
people form friendships and
professional connections
through the social events as
well as through the sessions
themselves.
I'm looking forward to our
2010 conference, our third
annual ICELW, at Columbia
University.
I hope to see you in New
York from June 9th-11th,
2010!
